Meet Melissa K. McIntyre who is a self taught mixed media mosaic artist. She uses recycled materials such as stained glass, ceramics, rocks, shells, and wood for her work. In 2011 she discovered mosaics and quickly realized she had a passion for the artform. She began selling her artwork online through Etsy. Her work can be seen in the downtown Indianapolis gallery Lilly's Soap Kitchen and Local Artisan Market.

 

She has been apart of downtown South Bend Indiana's Art Beat show for local artists now for the past two consecutive years 2012 and 2013.

 

In 2012 she also ran her own pop up shop in downtown South Bend Indiana. A program funded through the city that goes on during the holiday season to use up shop space that would otherwise be for sale and empty. It's a great way to shop local and support small businesses. It also puts money back into the local community.
